Move it my way – Cycle Sportive is a 68km or 100km cycle ride running alongside a fun day for all the family at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.
Both routes will pass through beautiful Cotswold countryside. There will be food and drink stops, marshals, signposting, a medibike and support vehicles.
The 68km route starts with gentle rolling countryside before taking on Horton Hill as it heads onto the Cotswold plateau. The route winds through Badminton, Sherston and Westonbirt before looping back to Yate via Wotton-Under-Edge. Very scenic, rolling terrain without too many difficult climbs.
The 100km route starts and finishes in a similar way to the 68km route but adds a punchy middle section borrowed from the 2016 Tour of Britain! Selsley Hill (starting on the outskirts of Stroud) and the A4135 Whiteway climb (from Dursley) either side of a beautiful scenic descent via Uley mimic the Tour’s route. Those hills contribute to a total of 1200 metres of climbing. Tough, but not impossible!
Participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship for Gympanzees to allow us to continue to run activity centres for disabled children and young people.
A fundraising and information pack will be sent out to all participants and there will be a prize for the person who raises the most money for Gympanzees. There will also be an option to purchase a Gympanzees Jersey – more details to come.
All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
