Lands End to Bristol Cycle – 13th July
We have a small team of super athletes who are going to be cycling from Lands End to Bristol in 24 hours!
An epic bike ride from Land’s End to the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. In one day you will cover approximately 211 miles – climbing a little under 5000 metres – taking in some of the most beautiful countryside in the South West of England.
We will leave Land’s End at 4.30am, taking advantage of every minute of daylight, heading back via St Austell, Tavistock, Exeter and Bridgwater. There is an expectation that riders will be as self sufficient as possible although feeding stations and mechanical support will be available. Participants should be able to perform basic mechanical fixes such as repairing a puncture and adjusting brake pads. Riders should be able to follow the route independently either by using a GPS cycle computer (or mobile phone) or paper maps. It is anticipated that riders will make their own arrangements for transport and accommodation on Friday 12th July, although details are still to be finalised.
There is no entry fee for this event. There is an expectation that entrants raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship for Gympanzees. Information on sponsorship will be sent to you by email shortly.
