Seneca Trust pledges £264,000
Major boost for Project Home as Seneca Trust pledges £264,000
We’re thrilled to share some brilliant news. Seneca Trust has pledged £264,000 towards our world-class outdoor playground, bringing our total raised to an incredible £5.8 million.
This is the moment that Jack, Our Director of Fundraising told Fran Garland, Our COO we’d secured this fabulous donation.
This generous commitment is directly funding the accessible playground equipment, with a further six figure amount pledged as match funding for an exciting campaign coming your way in the Spring.
About Seneca Trust
The Seneca Trust is a charitable foundation, that supports causes benefiting intellectually and physically disabled people internationally, with a focus on equality, inclusion and person centred support. They’ve already helped create a fully inclusive playground in Barnet, working alongside the local council to ensure disabled children have a place to play, exercise and make friends.
When trustees from Seneca Trust met with our founder Steph to visit the Barnet playground, they saw first-hand what’s possible when communities come together for disabled children. After keeping in touch for 18 months and reviewing our plans for Project Home, they knew they wanted to be part of making it happen.
In their offer letter, Seneca Trust wrote: “We at Seneca Trust are great believers in what you are doing and in you as a team to achieve it. It is very much our hope that your vision for this first centre becomes a reality and that it will be replicated across the UK.”
Why this matters
This donation is about more than money. It’s about believing that disabled children deserve the same opportunities as their peers. It’s about understanding that exercise, play and friendship shouldn’t be luxuries, they should be available to every child.
Right now, there’s no permanent facility in the UK dedicated to providing fully inclusive exercise, play and social opportunities for disabled children and young people. Gympanzees’ Project Home will change that. And with supporters like Seneca Trust backing our vision, we’re getting closer every day.
What happens next
We’ve got some exciting funding announcements coming in the next few weeks that will push our total even higher. With Seneca Trust’s match funding pledge coming next year, it’s a brilliant time for you to get involved with what we’re doing.
We’re building momentum. We’re building partnerships. And together, we’re building a place where every disabled child can exercise, play and belong.
Thank you to Seneca Trust for believing in our vision and joining us on this journey. We can’t wait to welcome you to Project Home when the doors open.
