5 Favourite Fundraising Ideas

Over the next couple of months, we are hoping to raise more funds to allow us to continue to run Pop Ups and work towards our main goal to open a permanent facility in Bristol in 2025. We’ve been asked for some ideas so here are our five favourite fundraising ideas.

Because it’s not always easy to fit fundraising around a busy schedule we’ve chosen our five favourite ideas based on something you can do at home or with friends; they’re easy to organise, low cost and fun so you can just pick a date and get started!

Bake Sale

Everyone loves cake (well we certainly do) and bake sales are really popular idea. With the summer holidays coming up why not organise a fun afternoon with friends and bake a few cupcakes to raise money. You can download a bake sale poster on our Facebook page to help promote your event. And try this really lovely cupcake recipe by Mary Berry. invitation to a bake sale

Games Night

All you need are some great games, people to play with and a place to play. Go old school with board games like Cluedo and Monopoly or if you have a few handsets and a games console why not go crazy with some Mario Cart competitions. Simply charge friends a few ÂŁs to play and make it a fun evening with some refreshments for small donations too.

BBQ

It’s the time of year when everyone loves a BBQ – so why not decorate your garden with bunting and invite neighbours, friends and family around for a few hot dogs and burgers in return for a small donation. Nobody expects cordon bleu cooking – keep it simple and everyone will have fun.

The Price of a Night Out

This is an easy one – ask your girlfriends, work colleagues or rugby mates to donate the amount they would usually spend on a night out towards the charity of your choice. You can make an event of it or simply ask them for the donation!

Quiz Night

Easy to set up at home, or in the local pub or village hall. Charge people to play in small teams. Short themed rounds give everyone the chance to share their specialist knowledge – and keep it fun.  There are loads of resources online to find quiz questions, here’s a few we found: Pub Quiz Questions , BusinessBallsQuiz  and QuizBalls.

We now have a fundraising page on Just Giving which means it’s really easy for anyone to set up their own fundraising page to support us and if you are eligible we can claim gift aid at no extra cost to our lovely supporters.

You don’t have to fund raise for a particular event either, be as creative as you like. One of our lovely supporters, Linda, asked for donations instead of presents for her 70th birthday and so far she has raised an amazing £230!

Of course, we would love you to join some of our fundraising events this summer and help us reach our target.

On 8th September we are holding a Family Fun Day at Yate Outdoor Sport Complex – just £5 per family and lots of fun stalls, games, activities, food and music to enjoy. It’s also the location for some specific fund raising event:

  • Move It My Way Track Challenges on 8th September – ÂŁ5 to enter and choose to walk, run or cycle any distance from 10m to 3km. Find out more
  • Cycle Sportive on 8th September – choose a 68km or 100km cycle route through the Cotswolds.

Later in the month we are encouraging people to run for Gympanzees in the Bristol half marathon.

  • Bristol Half Marathon 15th September – Register for the race directly and create your fundraising page and email us so we can share your training and fund raising journey.

And if you don’t want to participate in any of these you can simply support one of the people who is already fundraising for us.

Thank you for anything and everything you do to support Gympanzees!
